Dave's Music #91 Family Fun
So I'm working on my Saturday post on Thursday because family is coming to visit, so why not visit my Family Fun Playlist that I've been collecting songs over the last few months. I'm sharing ten songs from it, let's see how that goes. The original playlist started Gurf Morlix song, "Your Sister" which probably could be a theme on a porn clip... ha. So beware where this playlist might head, and likely most will head towards YouTube because these weren't recent buys on Bandcamp.
1) A Chat With Your Mother - Peter & Lou Berryman
Oh now don't use that F word with your mother. While I'm listening to the original, YouTube is full covers. (why? great song F ing yes) Here's Cathy Fink... I own some of her music:
Of course as I went to create a playlist with the song, it was set for NOT for Kids... here's one for the playlist of course in a bar.
2) Your Sister - Guy Morlix
As I stated above this song could be a soundtrack to Jimmy Buffett Mock Porn Video, but it's a song a fell in love with a while back; you might call it a relationship song. Even Google knows it's a little sassy, look what came up when I searched it in YouTube.
3) Little Sister - Ry Cooder
Dang I love when I search the song and get a live cut.
4) Savior Complex Sister - Siena Christie
Let's just calm it down and have a smooth hymnal for our sisters. Ok a Bandcamp song not on YouTube, and you likely know how I love Siena's voice and songwriting skills. I get a chance to host her during the end of August as she plays the Great River Folk Fest because she won the 2021 Songwriters Contest. I love this 2019 release.

5) Cruel Sister - The Shams
Another Sister song.... I'm not sure when I got this great Irish song in library and it's wonderful; yet when I searched for an alternative to post.. this great instrumental came up.
6) Middle Brother - Middle Brother
Ok enough picking on the sisters... love again I found a live video. Current 89.3 out of the Cities.. they had to clean up just slightly... Dick to Weiner?
7) My Brother Eats Bugs - Hans Mayer
A classic tune from my son Dustin's childhood. I did meet Kit, Han's younger brother must be him but Hans doesn't call him out. (You won't find this on the YT Playlist because of their funky made for kids rule)
8) I Don't Like Half the Folks I Love - Paul Thorn
Another Music Fog classic, and one that I'm going to get a special sign made for the house. I do not mean it as an insult. God says love your enemy. Jesus says the greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. But what if you truly don't like their politics, their smell, the way they treat others, and God knows their tastes in music. I'll go on loving and humming this song.
9) Family Tree - Lucky Dog
Of course I love the song I wrote and got Jessie McDonald to play fiddle and Lynn Konsela to sing harmonies plus all of the Lucky Dog band shows up.
10) Family Funeral - Jack Marion and the Pearl Snap Prophets
I met Jack through a Folk Fest Songwriter submission; fine songwriter. Can't find the produced version in Bandcamp or YouTube, but this man can sing a good story and yes.. maybe Family Fun does sometimes in a funeral.
