DBT #299 Monday Morning Song - Nevermind
In keeping with the blog's motto of Good Music Has NO Expiration Date; I give you Leonard's song "Nevermind" So much truth and lies in this world and it is captured in a electronic simplicity with a Arab haunting mix. While listening to music this morning I was drawn to this song from his 2014 "Popular Problems" While you are listening to it; remember he's making this fantastic music at 80. I did try to find out more about the song and found this blog post. Who says,
The song was originally a poem Cohen wrote in 2005. Evidently, it is about the Arab-Israeli war and the displaced Palestinians. The song refers to the forming of Israel, about some Palestinian refugees able to blend in and staying behind in Israel, others who were traitors and had worked with the enemy, and the role of UN in covering up details about the million and more displaced.
I hope this makes the blog a little more accessible, and you get a chance to find music. Remember even if these songs might not have been just released, #MusicHasNoExpirationDate it just sits on the shelf into you discover it, taste it, and fall in love with it.
