What follows is a mirrored post from my Bluff View Concerts blog. I wanted to put it into the DBT for future reference for the playlist. I so love to host musicians and the only anxiety I ever feel is did I get enough audience? ... well I hope to see you some day at the Bluff View
Here's the post:
Hey I've been collecting more videos from the concert series and NOT so you won't attend the next concert and wait for the videos. Ha. They are actually such memories that bring a few tears to my eyes. You someone newbie asked me what concert was my favorite, heck I can't even pick my favorite video I took. They are all so special. Add in the stories and background I learn from hosting these special people; they are special HUMANS for being so open to do a house concert. Here's the playlist of my live videos, and if you go back far enough, I had started the playlist as videos of songs artists did at our series. Yes, let me know if you make it through all 72 videos and what concert you liked the best. THE PLAYLIST Click HERE.
Ok I'll try for a few favorites.
I wish there were more girls like Sarah Peacock in my life; such a great spirit, writer, and oh gracious a singer.
And her friend who we were so lucky to host and get to know, Danni Nicholls! Even if those special British cookies tasted more like graham crackers to me.
Oh and I so love this Highway 9 song from Barnaby Bright. Flipping the room doesn't happen too often but if it adds a fiddle I'm all in.
So I ran into a friend Kris Risch and we were talking about the Weary Ramblers and he said "and oh that Bible Belt song damn Dave wasn't that Manitowoc too?" Yes and one my all time favorite song. Boy the videos using the sound mix are sooooo clean.
When I went back through the videos I found this quick one with snippets including my late buddy and the house concert mascot Hobbes. Here's the video description:
My weekend was:
1) Move furniture & vacuum
2) Set chairs and speakers
3) Stop at the store for salmon, wine, and fizzy water
4) Wait for the snow to stop
5) Shovel, run sound, and nap
6) Sound check, cook dinner, and meet artists
7) Completely enjoy a full house and wonderful concert
😎 Stay up way too late talking
9) Get up to feed Hobbes at 7:00
10) Coffee, say goodbye, and start tear down.
11) Lunch with Dustin and more tear down
12) Nap
13) Pizza with our nephew Jamie and his son Noah
14) Binge 3 more shows on Netflix
15) Start looking at videos and recording
16) Decide it will be Monday's blog post after I run to the library and upload the high resolution videos
17) Tease about the two videos coming
18) Hope you enjoy it.
Oh yeah, then there was the time I booked Eddie Allen so I could record him singing my favorite new song of his... this one. Now I can watch him doing it on the toilet.
I'll end this post with friends who played both my house concert and my 60th birthday party. I love them dearly. If I do find more videos in my archives to add to this playlist I will. It helps me remember too.
