DBT #371 In The Mood for Food V2

Ok I had a couple new songs that craved a Food playlist and while I had a ton saved in my library, I found only two playlists previously published.  Cooking with Boa #85 and Are You Hungry #112 where I admitted that was really my third volume.  So I put sometime cleaning up my library and now I have five volumes saved.  So let's have some fun because I am so in the mood for some food, here is officially Volume TWO.

1) Who Stole The Keishka? - Adrian and Meredith

Not me, though I love sausage.  Yes this was a recent add that pushed this playlist forward.  BTW Keishka is defined, and I know I suppose I should start following the artist known and Keiska.

"Keiska" refers to a Polish sausage also known as "kiszka" or "krupniok", and also to a musical artistAs a food, kishka is a type of sausage or stuffed intestine with a filling of meat and meal, often grain or potato. It's popular across Eastern Europe and in immigrant communities from those regions.

This song is on this album, and no I don't know why they don't show individual songs.

2) Banana Pancakes - Jack Johnson

I love this song much more than I love pancakes, banana or otherwise.

3) Beans Taste Fine - Shel Silverstein

Yep they do.

4) Give Him Cornbread - Beau Jocque & The Zydeco Hi-Rollers

You got to love collection CDs and Albums a few songs in this playlist came to me that way, this one is from 25 Years of Louisiana Spice from Rounder Records.

5) In the Mood - Henhouse Five Plus Two

Yes you guessed it this chicken lead song inspired the name of the post, and I just recently imported it from a 1978 compilation album called "Limo"  (Yes Josh at Big River Theatre inspired me to pull it out of the collection because it was a recent spin of his and it was laying out by the turntable as I walked out of the venue the other night)  While importing, I laughed and said I forgot I owned this gem.  I didn't realize Ray Stevens was in the middle of this, not too surprising.

6) Chicken - Carsie Blanton

Ha, "Loving you is like kissing a chicken"... had to follow that song.  Yes I got lucky to find this radio studio live cut.  Love her to death.  Sad I didn't see her anywhere this year.

7) Watermelon Dream - Guy Clark

Old Friends was one my all time favorite Guy album.

8) Oatmeal - Jennifer Daniels

Boy it was fun to watch this 2007 video, and the story that ties into it or at least food.

9) Peas on the Butterknife - Bruce Burnsides

Bruce was part of the infamous Lost Nation String Band that we saw many times in the late 70's.  This title cut off of his first solo album wasn't in YouTube to share, so I fixed that.

10) Nobody Eats at Linebaugh's Anymore - John Hartford

That's too bad, it sounded like a great place.

11) Filé Gumbo - Zachary Richard

Gimme some!  Yes this was also on that Louisiana Spice compilation.

12) Molasses - The Radiators

Another compilation CD Hitchhikers Vol 2 always wished for a Volume 3.

13) Baloney Again - Mark Knopfler

Oh no not baloney again?

14) Ice Cream - Sarah McLachlan

Another compilation CD, this one I got for a buck at a Bayfield resale store, by the number of plays it must have been a popular song.  I do know ice cream is.

15) Aloha Ka Manini - The Gabby Pahinui Hawaiian Band

From the Limo album above, and I looked up the translation:

"Aloha ka manini" translates to "Hail to the manini". It's a Hawaiian song that celebrates the manini (convict tang) fish, a popular and tasty reef fish, and its cultural significance in Hawaiian cuisine. The song also references other fish, seaweed (pōpolo), and sweet potato poi, highlighting the abundance and variety of food from the ocean and land.

16) Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett

Let's close with the master.

Ok here's you tasty one click playlist
