DBT #403 Monday Morning Song - Low Down Dirty

Ever since the FARM 2022 we've been enjoying Ben Gage's music, and when Lori and I saw him at SERFA we both commented; "Boy he's like Greg Brown when he was young."

Ben was releasing an album "Roads I Missed" (which I have on my wishlist) and I bought the two singles he released early to tease the release.  Today's Monday Morning Song is one of those, it's such a fun little blues song.  Of course it's original, but it's timeless.  Yes reading the song post is fun to catch up if you aren't a fan:

Ben Gage wraps up his album rollout with “Low Down Dirty”, a no-frills blues shuffle soaked one of the ultimate truths, we aren’t alone in anything we are living through. Dropping August 29th, this final single leans deep into the old-school blues spirit - raw vocals, thumping rhythm, and Gage’s signature blues harp howlin’. It’s the kind of tune that feels like it’s been around forever, passing through dirty hands to the next person feeling down on their luck.

The lyrics walk the line between personal heartache and shared experience, trading verses like old friends swapping stories. Everyone’s got their “low down dirty” be it a broken heart, a missed chance, a head full of regret, we’ve all been there. This song is the closing stamp on a record full of forks in the road and ghosts in the rearview, and it lands like a knowing nod: yep, we’ve all been singing the blues.

Yes, I'm passing on putting the audio video into our MMS video list when I saw this more raw cut released three years ago.
