DBT #438 Monday Morning Song - Barn's On Fire
Yes after Chad Elliott said, "I've been asked if this song is on an album, and it isn't" that I bit my tongue and decided to tell him after the concert that it IS on their Live album from the Bluff View House Concerts. Ok so it is a Bandcamp only and you can't Spotify it; but it's definitely there in it's one format. Funny during the break, I was telling a former WinCraft associate in the basement coffee house that when I sat back and edited the Weary Ramblers concert I couldn't believe their ended was a wonderful 10 minute jam song.
So when I thought about sharing this song for your Monday morning jam with toast; I did want to make sure it was also out in YouTube for you all to enjoy too. Yes it's out there TWICE, and I'm going to share the most recent; while I'm expecting the house concert version was early in their development of the song. I did tell Chad and Kathryn that they should consider ending it with a fade out song jam on "First There Is A Mountain" because the Allmans's did that at the end of the infamous "Fillmore East", and it finished as Mountain Jam on "Eat a Peach"
These two individuals are starting to get hot in the public's eye; and they should. They are staring to pile up Americana and Blues awards; while their recent album "Driftwood" is lauded with great accolades. Last year we saw them at three different venues; Moccasin Creek Festival, Blackhawk Festival and a songwriter contest finalist at the Great River Folk Fest. Well the last day of February, we started our FIRST for the year at a venue, Winona Arts Center, that I had never been to before in Winona even though I had worked in the city for 38 years.
I did have to laugh to myself as I love to record music, but the older lady next to me pulled out her phone to record this song. After it was over I asked her if her arm got sore, and she said that song went for 12 minutes. Yep that's why I didn't try to record it; but I did record a few from the night and they will be out in my Around Town playlist soon.
So here, is the song you can buy and download and have the Bluff View House concert version, though I recommend you go for the whole album. It does have all the banter too.
Now they introduce the song that this is your version... yes I trust them that no version is exactly the same, even to a point where this one has Chad in GLASSES!?!
