DBT #397 An Eau Claire Fairytale

My lady and I had just hosted a weary traveling musician (Kelly Hunt) and listened to a traditional troubadour (Dom Flemmons) the night before, when we ventured in our metal wagon over an hour and a half to town in the north.

We had paper authorization to enjoy a performance of a hummingly delicious Backyard Fairytale told by a siri wench with her band of mystics.  But; first a stop at ye ole record store for some vintage and fresh vinyl. (Revival Records)  I feasted on legends and inspired advice from allies in the field.

A brisk walk for a city block brought us to a fine dining place. (The Informalist)  Our evening meal consisted of ground hog & veal, with local mix of carrots, hariot vert, sweet corn and english peas, simmered in a aged cheddar sauce, with four charred potato tots floating on top.  Absolutely delicious.

Then the stage was set in a quiet room off of the main galley. (Pablo Center)  A glass of wine and the troupe took the stage.  Intensely personal and wonderfully eclectic music set the stage for the story.

At this point, the Siri lass embarked on the tale with her band giving an eerie calm.

I could tell you the story NOT because it's a curse to the storyteller.  Let us just exclaim that when the eyeball popped out the children gasped and giggled.  Now what has become of the youth these days.

After the players were done both a tall gentleman and the Siri lass informed us of another vintage vinyl store we must visit.  Tomorrow will be a good day for that.

Off to our hostel, and the saloon (The Lakely) attached.  While the whiskey was flowing from the gift of the housekeeper (Yes the Oxbox Hotel gave us a drink chip) More merriment and music from a trio (Songa).  As we made our way to the room, we took pleasure in their available wax library to play music in our room.

Before we did board the metal wagon to make the journey, we validated the claim from the night before.  The fair city of Eau Claire had two splendid vintage vinyl emporiums. (The Axbraxas)  The collection of purchases included a recording from one of troupes assembled in the previous evening. (Courtney Hartman)

We ended our story arriving back home to our felines requiring attention because some how they had become attached during our absence.

Your normal musical blog will return at a later date, but before we go... here are the secrets behind the storytelling.
