DBT #340 Whiskey Thinking Vol. 3
Diving into Sarah King's recent release and writing the Review DBT #337 made me revisit my Whiskey Volumes One (DBT #160) and Two (DBT#199); needless to say while I was enjoying a scotch.
So Sarah ends up with TWO Whiskey Songs one to start and end the playlist, let's enjoy this pour!
1) Whiskey Thinking - Sarah King
While I was enjoying a scotch, I'm thinking about getting some Jack Daniels in the house.
2) Whiskey River / Stay a little longer - Willie Nelson
How did this classic not make it into the first two volumes?
3) Whiskey - Tom T Hall
Of course I added this "New Train New Rider" album to the library Oct 2022, six months after I retired.
4) Learning to Drink Whiskey - Doug & Telisha Williams
I got this song off of Americana Agency Sampler 2011, and boy now I get to see them play it stripped down in my favorite YouTube channel Music Fog.
5) Whiskey Whiskey - Rita Coolidge
Boy I should do more videos like this one... Hey that lady isn't for sale.
6) Rye Whiskey - Tom Rush
Oh yes a good traditional song needs to show up too; I had the song on his best of record.
7) Nancy Whiskey - Schooner Fare
Whiskey? An good Irish nose could sniff out a good whiskey. I'm not trying to pretend to have an eclectic playlist, I just have an eclectic digital library and love it completely. I pray for those who don't.
8) Lovin' Whiskey - Rory Block
Oh my so we went folkie, Irish, to the best blues lady; I did not expect to run into this FANTASTIC video... oh my, I'm raising my glass to this. Plus you know what FUCK anyone who says woman can't do anything in this world; she's one of the best blues players that exists.
9) Whiskey Under the Bridge - Brooks & Dunn
I'm not a huge collector of 90's country, but you have to tip your hat how it can party, and this CD I got along the line and I'm not giving it up.
10) Whiskey Basin Blues - John Denver
While this isn't officially about the whiskey, it gave me a reason to listen to John again. You might have a variety of opinions about him, but he was a legend while I grew up in music.
11) Whiskey & Cocaine - Jim Ringer
With Jim dying of drinking, it's with sadness I share this; but remember all things in moderation; and I believe while I experimented a lot in my youth with drugs... cocaine wasn't one of them. Though someone gave me speed right before gym class in high school, I still remember being a goalie for some type of indoor hockey.
12) Scotch - Tim Kolek
My buddy recorded a song he wrote with his college buddy. He sent me his demo and I added the harp, a deeper background vocal and more percussion. Geez I even got Tim to allow me to put it on BC.
13) One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer - John Lee Hooker
Why not add a legend, groove along; and rejoice for compilation CD's and did I see Sarah King's red Gibson in this video?
14) Whiskey and Smokes -Merrill Miller
Dang... I love this song and while I'm going to share it from it's Bandcamp page I'd love to see it in YouTube someday...
15) Not Worth The Whiskey - Sarah King
Damn this woman could write a gospel of dark corners where Whiskey is king.
of course... dang Sarah.. I think I'm worth the whiskey... you rule.
