DBT #436 Worry It's Ok
Now don't you worry about me, I think lent and winter makes me a little reflective so the last few playlists have been a little somber, Shame, February, and a subdued Satisfied. Today's playlist was inspired by the purchase of Barefoot Movement's "Let It Out." I really love the album, and while they have their back catalog in Bandcamp, this album is not out there yet; and that's one of the three rules to my reviews.

So looking at the song list in BM's album, the word worry captured my attention and I wondered what that playlist could look like. Well it's precious Dave's Dozen again, and I know I'll have to upload at least one video for you to listen to. Here it is so let's get started:
1) No Reason To Worry - Barefoot Movement w/The Foreign Landers
I did check this song was out there in YouTube to share, and it's a cool one from their home studio recordings from a 2024 single release. Love to see Tabitha and David as they add banjo and great harmonies, The Foreign Landers are a favorite in the blog too.
2) Worry Not - Kelly Bosworth
I really didn't want to keep this song from the playlist because it wasn't on YouTube, so this gem from Kelly's 2014 Self-Titled album was uploaded for your enjoyment. Plus I added credits and better pictures to the Discogs listing. Ok one down for uploading, I'm guessing there will be another before this Dave's Dozen of songs is done. You can find her singing and playing with Libby Weitnauer in Bandcamp.
3) Dad Don't Worry - Johnsmith
Right, never expect when you tell a parent "Don't Worry" that it will stop them. Beautiful song from the master and his 1998 rookie debut release "Hole In The Clouds."
4) Don't Worry - The Sweetback Sisters
Let's get the groove going with the Sweetback Sisters, don't worry it's fine to move in your seat.
5) Don't Worry Baby - Carrie Elkin
While Carrie does have a Bandcamp page, this back catalog rookie debut 2004 album "The Waltz" is not included. Pretty cool that I didn't have to upload this song to share her Beach Boy cover.
6) That Don't Worry Me Now - Shawn Colvin
I need to say this once a playlist, boy I find making these a trip to reconnect with voices I haven't heard in ages... Shawn's one of those.
7) Why Worry - Dire Straits
If you follow the blog, you know I love Mark Knopfler; his writing, his singing style, and why of course he can play the guitar. Here is when he was just pup, don't worry you'll grow up perfectly.
8) Worry Too Much - Buddy Miller
Recently I replaced my CD of Universal United House of Prayer just recently. I went to import it and found it was broken. This is truly one of his best albums, though I only truly have three so far. This is actually a Mark Heard cover, and I know he died too early and I only have one Bandcamp album of his, but now I put some of his old vinyl on my want list in Discogs. Don't worry, I'll buy something along the line.
9) Don't You Worry - Stephen Bishop
Mr. On and On, I picked up his 1980 release "Red Cab To Manhattan" and yes there gems on there though I'm not sure anything would be as big as "On and On". Don't worry, I don't regret the purchase.
10) Worry No More - Amos Lee
Bought this in Bandcamp digital, love it. If this song can't get you out of a worry funk, you're in pretty deep.
Love the video concept of the noise of the world disappears and she puts the headphones go on and this song starts playing. Yep I love that high, and many times even I don't need to I listen to music with headphones. Don't worry, I've already have dinged my hearing and I'm old.
11) Worry My Friend - Katie Dahl
From my Door Wisconsin friend, Katie sings of worrying about redwood trees falling on her. Don't worry they didn't.
You know I love when I can share with you the studio version in Bandcamp and a solo version in YouTube.
12) Don't Worry 'Bout Me - Joni Mithchell
From Joni's crooner album "Both Sides Now", I picked up digitally. Vocally, she aces that style.
