DBT #442 Around Town Vol. 4

I loved my busking kitty used on Volume three, so today we find a busking kitty fiddler ready to enjoy the 818 videos in Around Town.  Yes that's over a hundred videos since the last highlight post.  I know it is nearly impossible to expect you to watch all of that music, so volume four adds another 12 videos that I love in this post, so we'll be up to 48 for all four.  Merely 6% of the videos, here are links to the previous volumes.

Let's jump into it with a few rules, no repeats and they don't all come from the 110 recent uploads since Volume 3.

1) Wake up Baby - Amanda Pascali

I'm so grateful that Pablo Center added Amanda Pascali to their 715 series, and they had a pretty decent crowd show up on a Wednesday for this wonderful songwriter now from Austin TX.  There is simply no one I can compare her style of music to; so here's one she borrows a little from Ray Orbison.

2) Love Me Like You've Always Been Mine - Buffalo Rose

I could have recorded the whole night, what a powerful group to be in the front row.  Worth a three hour drive and staying in the Hilton for walking distance.

3) Roll On, Rose - The Weary Ramblers

The third new 2026 video from our first visit to Winona Arts Center; of course it has friends that have made these lists before, the Weary Ramblers.  They did a bunch of new songs that night including this one:

4) Tobacco Road - The Barefoot Movement

Wow, just thinking of the music I've seen in this short while in 2026; so good.  We hadn't seen the BM for a while, and they were awesome.  Again I took more videos than normal; but I was in the front row again for this masterpiece.

5) Safe Home - Johnsmith with Elisi Smith-Waller

Now everyone expects John to close the night with this incredible farewell wish; now I can say he did it at my house too.

6) Big Dipper - Humbird

Oh my our Eau Claire Fairytale weekend, was our first taste of what was possible.  I had the most fun writing about it too, so take a chance to read it here.  Ok yes this video does have it's own post; but it needs to be in the highlights too.

7) Farther Along - Kelley Smith w/Kelly Hunt

Sure I'd travel three hours to see Kelly Hunt (and I have in Vol 3) but I'm good with right down the road to my favorite watering hole; The Trempealeau Hotel.

8) Take It To The Garden - Maygen and the Birdwatcher

It was so much fun to have these great musicians in the house.

9) The Pretender - Tim Kolek

If you think I avoid cover bands, it's not true.  I love covers placed strategically placed in a set; and I've been known to enjoy a tribute night.  Tim's tribute to Jackson Browne was spot on.

10) Lonely Heart - Cactus Blossoms

Another front row seat and finally a time I could get good video of the boys.  Winona's Artist Next Door series is simply wonderful.

11) Can You Hear Me - The Rebel Eves

I saved the last two videos to venture out of the most recent.  It appears I haven't shared the fact that I fell in love again with an all woman group.  Like it doesn't happen say once a month at least.  The Rebel Eves had both Lori and I's attention at Mile of Music; we would love to see them again.

12) People My Age - John Gorka

Leave them laughing and maybe at themselves.  John is recorded here where the new Sweet Beats Jazz and Desert Lounge has opened up for a Great River Folk Fest event.

Just for you, here's a playlist of Dave's Dozen volume 4 of Around Town.

Of course you can and should feel free to venture through all 818 videos here, more added weekly it seems.
